Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Sheffield S9
Salary: £95 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day/Long-term, Full-time.

GSL Education are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a vibrant school in Sheffield (S9). Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with behavioural and emotional challenges.
  • Help students develop coping strategies to manage their emotions and behaviour in the classroom.
  • Support classroom teachers in maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Monitor and track students' progress and behaviour, reporting back to the teaching staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and academic progress by offering praise and reinforcement.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Promote inclusivity and ensure every student is treated with respect and dignity.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with behavioural needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students in challenging situations.
  • Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude to problem-solving.
  • A passion for making a positive impact in students' lives.
  • A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (mandatory).
