Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Location: Sheffield S9
Salary: £95 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day/Long-term, Full-time.
GSL Education are currently searching for a Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school in Sheffield (S9). As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students at secondary level, helping them achieve their best across a range of subjects. This role offers the chance to work in a positive, dynamic environment where your contributions will make a real difference to students' education.
The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with classroom teachers, assisting with lesson delivery, supporting students with their learning, and ensuring that all pupils feel confident and capable. Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
- Provide support to students at secondary level across a variety of subjects.
- Assist with lesson preparation and help students during classroom activities.
- Offer one-to-one and group support to students who need extra help.
- Foster a positive learning environment and manage student behaviour.
- Help with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Assist students with special educational needs (SEN) where required.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teachers.
- Encourage students to engage actively in their learning.
- Experience working with secondary school students, ideally in a teaching assistant capacity.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both students and staff.
- A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting students.
- Passion for supporting students in achieving their full potential.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
