SEN School Support Worker
Location: Leicester
Salary: £83 to £95 per day
Start date: Immediately
Hours: 8:45am – 3:10pm (Non-negotiable)

Are you a caring and adaptable individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with diverse needs? GSL Education – Leicester Branch are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Workers in Leicester!

The SEN school caters to a wide range of needs, providing a nurturing environment for students with various challenges. They support students with physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism (ASC), moderate learning difficulties (LD), including dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as those with sight and hearing impairments, and Down syndrome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised care for students with physical disabilities, including assistance with feeding, changing, and support with mobility.
  • Support students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) in their educational and personal development.
  • Assist students with autism (ASC) in their communication and social interaction.
  • Provide support for students with moderate learning difficulties (LD) such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of students with sight and hearing impairments.
  • Foster a nurturing environment for students with Down syndrome, promoting their overall well-being.

  • The ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students with various disabilities.
  • A willingness to follow a routine and provide stability for students.
  • Candidates who can bring a sense of fun and playfulness to engage students, particularly those with drama backgrounds comfortable with being silly.

Additional Information:

  • The role involves supporting students with a wide range of needs, offering a diverse and fulfilling experience.
  • Some students may require personal care, including feeding, changing, and assistance with mobility.
  • Candidates should be comfortable with maintaining a consistent routine for the benefit of the students.
  • A drama background is beneficial, as the role may involve engaging with students in a playful and creative manner.
