GSL SEN Education are looking for Psychology/ Criminology/ Sociology/ Education studies Graduates based in Redditch to work as SEN LSAs (Learning Support Assistants) in one of our specialist schools for children who have an EHCP for their trauma, social, emotional, and mental health challenges, ADHD, ADD, OCD and several more associated conditions.
The LSA role being aimed at sincere Psychology/ Criminology/ Sociology/ Education studies Graduates, looking to gain practical experience within the field. This role will help you with your aspirations within Clinical Psychology, Advocacy and Youth/Social Justice and for those trying to gain experience before entering the world of Teaching, giving you daily exposure to just how nuanced and vital this role is.

These are 2 of the key aspects of this role, you must be sincere and understand this role and roles similar, are very challenging. This LSA role is very challenging as each child has a different context for their mental health and trauma, their own idiosyncrasies, cultures, and home lives that will be very different to each other. Therefore, building comfort and relationships, through a restorative model is so important and should never be overlooked.
That is why it is vital that you can QUALIFY and even more importantly, DISQUALIFY the SEN and Mental Health sectors for yourself.

Large provision of 60 children, boys, and girls, aged 5-16
Working with outstanding SEN Professionals and like-minded Psychology and Criminology graduates
Clinical Psychologists on site, either working pro bono or brought in from outside agencies
Potential of shadowing specialists, dependent on their schedule and each child’s context and situation
Classes of no more than 6, you will have a mixture of 1:1 and small group work in class, dependent on the lesson and individual contexts
Focus on Key and Personal Skills, Sports, Cooking, Technology, Music, Drama, Photography and Art
All training and support provided by the school with their excellent training system
