Sports Cover Supervisor
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: January 2024
Salary: £93 – £110 per day

GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Sports Cover Supervisors to provide high-quality Physical Education and General Supply Cover at a Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. This role will involve delivering pre-planned PE lessons and activities, ensuring the safety and engagement of students, whilst maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.

Sports Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Delivering and leading pre-planned PE lessons and activities, ensuring student participation and engagement.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policies.
  • Working closely with SEN students, understanding their individual needs and adapting activities accordingly.
  • Promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, while encouraging teamwork and social skills.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students during Physical Education lessons, following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
  • Recording attendance, behaviour incidents, and progress during lessons, providing feedback to relevant staff members.

Sports Cover Supervisor Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in sports, coaching, or physical education.
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably with SEN students.
  • Knowledge of basic sports injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation techniques is crucial.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, with a commitment to promoting student welfare.
  • The ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Be able to work effectively in a team.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
