Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Eastleigh

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Full-time/Part-time

Salary Scale: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join one of our client schools in Eastleigh. Working closely with teachers and other school staff, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting the emotional well-being and academic progress of students across various year groups.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team aiming to provide tailored emotional and academic support to students with mental health challenges. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with an understanding of safeguarding principles to ensure a secure environment for all students.

Responsibilities of a Mental Health Support Worker:

  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to students with mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans alongside the pastoral and SEN teams.
  • Collaborate with teachers to promote a positive learning atmosphere for all students.
  • Offer guidance and practical support to help students manage their mental health challenges.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as required.

Qualifications for a Mental Health Support Worker:

  • Relevant experience in mental health, social care, or education.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse needs and work in a supportive capacity.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
