Job Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Ringwood
Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time / part-time
Start: Immediately

We have an exciting opportunity for a Disability Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a welcoming school in Ringwood!

About the Role:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.

Key Responsibilities of the Disability Support Worker:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with disabilities, tailoring educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them understand and complete their work, and providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting each student’s learning and well-being.
  • Help foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included.
  • Employ different instructional techniques and materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
  • Keep detailed notes on each student’s development and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements of the Disability Support Worker:

  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Show a deep commitment to helping students with disabilities by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Additional qualifications or training in special education are advantageous but not mandatory, providing you with additional skills and knowledge to support students with disabilities effectively.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
