Design Technology Teacher
Location: Selby, North Yorkshire
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Contract Type: Full Time

GSL Education North Yorkshire branch is seeking to appoint a Design Technology Teacher to work at a Client Secondary School in Selby, North Yorkshire starting in January 2025. We warmly welcome applications from both experienced teachers and early careers teachers.
Design Technology Teacher Responsibilities:
- With direction from the Head of Department and within the context of the school’s curriculum and schemes of work, plan and prepare effective lessons.
- Deliver interactive lessons for KS3 and GCSE students that capture students' imaginations and foster their passion for Design Technology.
- Incorporating theoretical aspects of Design Technology.
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop innovative teaching materials and schemes of work that align with the national curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate the assessment and feedback to students in line with whole school and department policy.
Food Technology and Design Technology Teacher Requirements:
- A teaching qualification, namely a PGCE or a B.Ed. with QTS.
- Has strong subject knowledge within the Design Technology curriculum area.
- Passionate about teaching Design Technology along with a strong command of the subject.
- Strong interpersonal skills and classroom behaviour management.
- Committed and reflective professional who strives for continued improvement.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
