£76.92 - £95.68 per day

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children with Autism? GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker for a local school based in Poole to join their supportive team immediately.

About the School:

The school is a special place for Early Years students aged 3 -6 with Autism, designed to create a calm and supportive environment for their learning. They have small classrooms, a playroom, sensory room, music room, and playground to enhance their experience. With a high staff-to-student ratio, each child receives individualised support tailored to their needs. The curriculum focuses on the unique requirements of each student, grouping them by similar needs and ages. They prioritise safety with trained staff who take any concerns about neglect or abuse very seriously. The school proudly holds an Outstanding Ofsted rating, reflecting their commitment to providing exceptional care and education for children with autism spectrum disorder and other learning difficulties.

About the Role:

As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with the skilled educators to provide tailored support to each child, ensuring their individual needs are met. You will help create a positive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging activities that cater to the unique needs of each child.
  • Support children in their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of all students.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (e.g., Level 2/3 Diploma in Childcare and Education) is preferred, not mandatory.
  • Experience working with children in educational setting, particularly with Autism or special educational needs, is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to supporting young learners.
