Food Technician

Location: Clacton on Sea, Essex

Salary: 85-100

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (20 hours per week, 4 hours per day

Start Date: November 2024

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and organised Food Technician to join our Design and Technology department. This role supports teaching staff and students in practical food technology lessons by preparing materials, organizing equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Working closely with the Head of Design and Technology, the Food Technician plays a key role in facilitating hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing and delivering practical lessons.
  • Set up and maintain equipment for practical activities.
  • Organize storage of materials and resources.
  • Order supplies and verify deliveries against orders.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment.
  • Conduct risk assessments for activities and equipment.
  • Provide health and safety guidance to staff and students.
  • Support teachers and students in planning and executing projects.
  • Attend and contribute to department meetings.
