We are excited to announce an opening for an SEMH Teacher (English Specialism) - Secondary at our schools in South Woodham. This role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled educator who is passionate about English and dedicated to supporting secondary students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As an SEMH Teacher (English Specialism) - Secondary, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by using English as a medium to inspire confidence, promote literacy skills, and foster a love for learning among students facing unique challenges.

In the role of SEMH Teacher (English Specialism) - Secondary, you will design and deliver tailored English lessons that engage and motivate students, while addressing their individual learning needs. You will work closely with a supportive team of staff to create a positive and safe learning environment. This role requires an SEMH Teacher (English Specialism) - Secondary who is patient, adaptable, and dedicated to helping each student achieve their potential, both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons for secondary students with SEMH needs.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment that encourages positive social and emotional growth.
  • Track and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet each student’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, SEN coordinators, and parents to provide holistic support.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support student engagement and participation.
