Role Overview:
In your role as a Secondary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, creating an engaging classroom environment, and inspiring students to achieve their best. You’ll work collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators to provide a well-rounded education that meets the needs of all learners.

Responsibilities of a Secondary Teacher:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that meet the curriculum standards and cater to different learning styles.
  • Assess student performance through various methods, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies and promoting respect and cooperation among students.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs and ensure all students can access the curriculum.
  • Provide academic and emotional support to students, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Work closely with colleagues, including other teachers and support staff, to share best practices and enhance the educational experience.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behaviour, and well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with educational practices and subject knowledge.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities, clubs, or sports to foster a well-rounded educational experience for students.

An Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively, creating a conducive learning environment.
  • Flexibility to adjust lesson plans and teaching approaches based on the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering student learning and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and contribute positively to the school community.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding practices and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • A current enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
