Location: Sholing
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join a client school in Sholing. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you’ll be a vital part of the team, supporting individuals with mental health challenges and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.
Role Overview:
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work directly with individuals to provide care, emotional support, and practical assistance. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping others achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will:
- Provide day-to-day emotional and practical support to individuals, encouraging independence and confidence.
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care, social interaction, and household tasks.
- Develop trusting relationships and act as a positive role model for individuals.
- Monitor and record changes in clients’ behaviour, health, or needs, and report to healthcare teams as needed.
- Collaborate with other professionals to create and maintain personalised support plans.
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals.
- Participate in activities that promote mental well-being, social skills, and community involvement.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Prior experience as a Mental Health Support Worker or in a related support role (desired but not essential).
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building supportive relationships.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
- Relevant qualifications in mental health, social care, or similar fields (advantageous).
- A proactive, positive attitude and a commitment to inclusivity and safeguarding practices.
