Pay Rate: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cover Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming secondary school in Scunthorpe!

About the Role:

As a Cover Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities of Cover Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans: Tailor educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN: Help students understand and complete their work, providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress: Provide feedback to teachers and adjust support strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents: Ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment: Foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students: Cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress: Report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements of Cover Teaching Assistant:

  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential: Demonstrate an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Deep commitment to helping students with SEN: Exhibit patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education (desirable but not essential).

To work with GSL Education as a Cover Teaching Assistant,you will need:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
