Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistants

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Start Date: November 2024
Salary: £83 - £100 per day

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? If so, GSL Education are seeking an Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistants to work at a Special Educational Needs School in York, North Yorkshire starting in November 2024.

As a Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing nurturing support to students with special educational needs. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where students can develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistants Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs..
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Implement strategies to support students' social and emotional development, including promoting positive behavior and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Assist in creating and implementing educational resources and materials.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to the overall school community through active participation.

Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistants Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • Experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of classroom dynamics and student needs.
  • A nurturing and empathetic approach to supporting students' social and emotional development.
  • Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
  • Ability to adapt and work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
