SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant
Location: Ringwood
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to students with special educational needs in a vibrant school in Ringwood. This role is perfect for an individual with a deep commitment to inclusive education, where you will work closely with educators to ensure students receive tailored assistance in a welcoming and supportive environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive learning experience, helping students overcome challenges, and promoting their social and academic development.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, adapting methods to each individual
- Assisting with both classroom activities and individual sessions, offering focused attention
- Implementing personalised learning plans and ensuring students are fully engaged
- Monitoring and documenting student progress and collaborating with the teaching team
- Providing feedback to teaching staff and assisting in lesson planning as needed
Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Prior experience working with children or students with special educational needs (preferred)
- A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN or Level 2/3 in Support for Teaching and Learning)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly
- A dedication to promoting inclusion and supporting student welfare and well-being
