SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant
Location: Totton
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Totton. You will assist in planning and implementing individualised learning strategies and engage in close collaboration with teachers and other support staff to ensure each student reaches their full potential. This role requires patience, empathy, and adaptability as you support both academic and personal development.
As a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Work closely with the class teacher to support SEN students in day-to-day activities.
- Implement tailored learning plans to address each student's unique requirements.
- Monitor and document progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents.
- Promote a safe and respectful classroom environment for all learners.
Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience in SEN support.
- Proven experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of various SEN conditions and support techniques.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to undergo a new check
