Autism Support Worker

Location: Winton

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary Scale: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and passionate Autism Support Worker to join a vibrant school in Winton. This role requires patience, empathy, and a strong dedication to inclusivity. Your support will empower students to access the curriculum and engage fully with school life.

As an Autism Support Worker, you will play an essential role in providing tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. You will work one-on-one or in small groups, assisting students in developing social skills, managing behavioural challenges, and enhancing their educational experience.

Responsibilities of an Autism Support Worker:

  • Support students in a classroom and individual setting, adapting activities to meet their needs.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural guidance in line with school policies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and SEN coordinators to ensure consistent support.

Requirements for an Autism Support Worker:

  • Experience working with children, preferably those with autism or other additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection, and the ability to pass all relevant background checks.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
