Teacher of Computer Science
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: January 2025
Salary:
MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

GSL Education are seeking for a  highly skilled and enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to join a vibrant educational community in York, North Yorkshire, for a January 2025 start.

Teacher of Computer Science Responsibilities:

  • Preparing teaching materials, designing activities and assessments, and ensuring that the curriculum objectives are met.
  • Alongside theoretical knowledge, you should also guide students in developing practical skills related to computer science.
  • Developing and reviewing the computer science curriculum, aligning it with national or state standards and the school's educational objectives.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate students' understanding of the subject through tests, projects, and assignments.
  • Recognizing that students have different learning needs and abilities, teacher would adapt their teaching strategies to cater to a diverse range of students.
  • Collaborate with other computer science teachers and staff members to share resources, exchange ideas, and align teaching approaches.

Teacher of Computer Science Requirements:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) with a relevant Degree.
  • Have recent experience teaching GCSE Computer Science.
  • Be a subject ambassador, promoting engagement across the department and school.
  • Be able to provide 2 teaching references from within the last 2 years.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
