Job Title: Cover Teaching Assistant

Salary Range: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP - Ongoing
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic SEN secondary school in Scunthorpe. About the role:
As a Cover Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support in the classroom by assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and ensuring that students remain focused and motivated. Your role will involve working with individual students and small groups, adapting resources to meet their diverse needs, and helping them thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities of the Cover Teaching Assistant:
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students with SEN.
- Support individual students and small groups, helping them to stay focused, motivated, and engaged in their learning activities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Help to create and adapt learning resources that cater to students' specific needs and learning styles.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs).
Requirements of the Cover Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working in a similar role, particularly within an SEN setting, is essential.
- A strong understanding of special educational needs and strategies to support diverse learners effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students in their learning journey.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are desirable but not mandatory.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
