Salary Range: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for dedicated Autism Practitioners in Scunthorpe to provide specialised support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). About the role:
As an Autism Practitioner, you will provide tailored support to students with autism, helping them engage in learning and develop key social and communication skills. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will create a structured environment that encourages confidence, independence, and personal growth.
Responsibilities of the Autism Practitioner:
- Deliver individualised support to students with autism, adapting learning activities to meet each student's unique needs.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a structured, engaging, and sensory-friendly environment.
- Foster students’ communication, social, and independent learning skills, promoting confidence and resilience.
- Use effective behaviour management techniques to support students in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals.
- Record and monitor students’ progress, communicating regularly with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure comprehensive support.
Requirements of the Autism Practitioner:
- Previous experience working with students with autism or in an ASD-specific setting is essential.
- Strong understanding of autism, sensory processing, and strategies to support effective learning.
- Excellent communication skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to understanding each student’s needs.
- Ability to adapt to various learning styles and manage behaviours constructively.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or child development are desirable but not required.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
