Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full Time/Part Time

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be key to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. You’ll work closely with teachers to provide valuable support to students, helping them overcome challenges, grow academically, and build their confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in creating and modifying learning materials and classroom activities to cater to the diverse needs of students, ensuring that resources are accessible and engaging for everyone.
  • Provide tailored support to students through one-on-one and small-group sessions, helping them understand and complete tasks effectively to enhance their learning experience.
  • Foster a supportive environment by promoting positive behaviour, assisting students in developing essential social skills, and boosting their self-confidence to engage actively in class.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor and assess students' progress, adapting the level of support provided as necessary to ensure each student can succeed.
  • Strive to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel safe, respected, and empowered to learn and express themselves.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for establishing supportive relationships with both students and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Contributing positively to the classroom environment and supporting teaching staff in delivering quality education.
  • While relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable, they are not essential.
  • Passion for student development and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment will be highly valued.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
