About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be a key figure in supporting students with behavioural needs. - One-on-One and Group Interventions: Offer individual and small group interventions to help students manage their behaviour. Use evidence-based strategies to support students in developing positive behaviours and overcoming challenges.
- Teach Self-Regulation Techniques: Teach and reinforce self-regulation techniques, helping students to understand and manage their emotions and behaviours. Encourage positive interactions and model appropriate behaviour.
- Classroom Support: Work alongside classroom teachers to implement behaviour management strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support teachers in addressing behavioural issues and fostering a culture of respect and cooperation.
- Monitor Progress: Maintain detailed records of students’ behaviour, progress, and any interventions used. Provide regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties to ensure a coordinated approach to each student’s development.
- Liaise with External Agencies: Ensure that students receive comprehensive support by collaborating with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of students and their families.
