Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

About the role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students. This includes supporting with their education, but also their holistic development, such as students’ communication, social skills, and independence.
Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support Assistant:
- Assist in the implementation of behaviour support plans (BSPs) developed by teachers and SENCO, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in managing challenging behaviours.
- Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to understand and manage their emotions and behaviours in various settings.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting and reinforcing positive behaviour and social skills among students.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to develop and review behaviour intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Monitor student behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians, as necessary.
- Assist teachers in maintaining a productive learning environment by implementing proactive strategies and providing support during lessons.
Requirements of the Behaviour Support Assistant:
- Have experience working with young people in a supportive role, preferably in an education or mental health setting.
- Have a caring and patient attitude, along with strong communication skills.
- Have profound knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and their impact on learning.
- Possess a commitment to promoting well-being and positive behaviour.
- Can work both as part of a team and independently.

- Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)
- An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education).
