SEN Support Worker
Location: Blandford Forum
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time
Start Date: Immediate
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Support Worker to join a nurturing school in Blandford Forum. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to impact students' lives positively and help them achieve their academic goals.
The role:
As an SEN Support Worker, you will collaborate with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support for students with diverse needs. Your compassionate approach and dedication will create an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere where students can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised support to students with special educational needs, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the individual learning requirements of students.
- Implement and monitor individual support plans to ensure students’ needs are being met effectively.
- Engage with parents and staff to maintain clear communication regarding students' progress and challenges.
- Provide feedback to teachers about student development and participation in class activities.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs in an educational setting is preferred.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent are desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach when working with students facing challenges.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students in different classroom settings.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports student success.

To Work with GSL Education as an SEN Support Worker, You Need
- The right to work in the UK.
- An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years.
- An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
