Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

£12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

About the role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to boost student learning and engagement in various classroom settings. Your primary responsibilities will involve implementing Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs), assisting with behavioural management, and creating an inclusive and nurturing environment. This role presents an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special educational needs within a supportive school community.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Implement Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) to address individual student needs effectively.
  • Assist with behavioural management strategies to promote positive conduct and a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation and engagement from all students.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure seamless support for students with special educational needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights with the educational team to facilitate ongoing improvement.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for helping students overcome learning barriers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic classroom setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
