SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher
Location: Weymouth
Start Date: December 2024/January 2025
Contract: Full-time
Salary Scale: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a vibrant school in Weymouth. The role will focus on creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, disabilities, SEMH, and other SEND. This role demands a passionate educator with the expertise to develop tailored lesson plans and implement creative teaching strategies that engage and support all students in achieving their full potential.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:
- Develop and implement individualised learning programmes for pupils with diverse SEN needs.
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere that promotes well-being and engagement.
- Liaise with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to address students' specific needs.
- Evaluate and document pupils' progress, providing adjustments to learning strategies as needed.
Required Qualifications for an SEN Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with SEND pupils, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and practices
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
