GSL Education are excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bournemouth from January 2025 (or sooner), with flexible full-time or part-time hours and valuable experience in supporting SEN students!
About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential support for both students and teachers, working to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will assist in daily classroom activities, helping to prepare educational materials and engage students in learning. With a particular focus on supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), you will provide one-on-one or group assistance to encourage academic and personal development.
Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and supportive learning experiences.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, including those with SEN.
- Help create an inclusive, safe, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and report to teachers on student achievements and challenges.
- Assist in preparing educational materials and setting up classroom activities.
- Support the social and emotional development of students, contributing to their overall well-being.
- Supervise students during break times and on field trips as needed.
Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:
- Hold a bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- Be proactive, energetic, kind, and caring towards students.
- Previous experience working in a classroom setting; experience with SEN is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a nurturing and patient approach.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently when needed.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
