Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse needs. You will provide one-on-one or small group support, assist the class teacher in creating and implementing individual education plans (IEPs), and support students in their academic, social, and emotional development. Your role will also involve helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students, and monitoring and recording students’ progress.
Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both one-on-one and in small groups.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to manage student behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Prepare and organise learning materials and classroom resources.
- Track and report on student progress, offering valuable feedback to teachers and parents.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere, encouraging all students to participate in classroom activities.
Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience as a SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education are highly desirable.
