SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £83 - £100 per day
Start Date: November 2024
Contract Type: Full-Time
GSL Education are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to work at a Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. This is a mixed position that involves working with class teachers to ensure that lessons are delivered in accordance with students' individualized learning goals.
SEN Teaching Assistants Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, delivering lessons under the teacher's guidance, and helping students with their learning
- Provide dedicated support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom environment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, ensuring the well-being and engagement of students with SEN.
- Working with class teachers, other support staff and the senior leadership team to provide the best educational, emotional, and social support that you can.
- Be involved in assessing students' work and providing feedback.
- Assist with maintaining classroom discipline and supporting students with behavioural issues.
- Work with students with special educational and help them adapt to teaching methods and materials.
SEN Teaching Assistants Requirements:
- Must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Have a Level 4 or higher qualification.
- You should have a relevant childcare or education-based qualification.
- Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
- Passion to working with young people to ensure barriers to learning are overcome.
- Confident in the delivery of pre-planned lessons and interventions.
- The ability to manage behaviour in-line with school policy.
- Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
