Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Andover
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support to join a welcoming and supportive client school in Andover.

In this SEN Learning Support role, you will work closely with students, offering them personalised support and helping them thrive in their educational journey. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills while positively impacting the lives of students every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with special educational needs, ensuring personalised assistance that meets their individual needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement inclusive learning strategies that encourage engagement and progress.
  • Assist students in staying attentive and positive in class, offering gentle reminders and guidance to maintain focus.
  • Foster social and emotional growth, helping students manage behaviours and develop key social skills.
  • Cultivate a welcoming, supportive environment that boosts confidence and helps students feel valued and motivated.
  • Keep thorough records of student development, contributing insights to refine learning plans as necessary.
  • Encourage independence in students, supporting them in reaching both personal and academic milestones.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar SEN support role within an educational setting.
  • A genuine dedication to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ, preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively connect with students and collaborate with the school team.
  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible in responding to each student’s unique needs.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one.
