SEN Tutor
Location: Doncaster
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Salary Scale: £25-£30 per hour (Depending on experience)
GSL Education South Yorkshire are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Tutor to join one of our client schools in Doncaster, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across various age groups. This role will require sensitivity, adaptability, and a solid understanding of SEN teaching practices, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their personal best.
As an SEN Tutor, you will work with small groups or individual students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and social growth.
Responsibilities of an SEN Tutor:
- Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the individual learning needs of SEN students.
- Implement appropriate teaching strategies to ensure student engagement and understanding.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adjusting support as required.
- Collaborate with SEN Coordinators and other educational professionals.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
Qualifications for an SEN Tutor:
- Previous SEN teaching/tutoring experience.
- Knowledge of SEN educational practices and UK National Curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new check.
