Teaching Assistant SEMH - Harlow

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be a crucial part of our mission to create an environment where every student can thrive academically and personally, regardless of their social, emotional, or mental health challenges. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualised support and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Harlow

Salary Scale: £80-£100 (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time 

Responsibilities:

  • As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support the social and emotional development of students.
  • As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role is advantageous.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • As an SEMH Teaching Assistant you will have or be willing to learn knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions.
