Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Location: Gateshead
Pay Rate: £75-£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Daily Supply, Long Term

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting secondary school students’ learning and well-being. You will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students, assist in the preparation of classroom materials, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will also include supporting students, monitoring their progress, and fostering their social and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities of Secondary Teaching Assistant

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students.
  • Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on students’ progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to enhance the learning experience.

Requirements of Teaching Assistant in Secondary Education:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students’ educational and personal development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development are desirable.

To work with GSL Education as a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • A DBS registered to the Updated Service or is willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
