Job Title: Science Teacher

Salary Range:
£155 - £220 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teachers to work in Schools across Sheffield (S9). Whether you are looking for long-term positions or day-to-day assignments, we have placements available in a wide range of schools to suit your career goals.

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective science lessons to students of varying abilities. You will create a stimulating learning environment, develop lesson plans that meet curriculum standards, and use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles. Your role will also involve assessing students’ progress, providing feedback, and supporting their academic and personal development.

Responsibilities of the Science Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons to Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students, making complex concepts accessible and exciting.
  • Foster a supportive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and inquiry.
  • Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the science curriculum.
  • Ensure safety in the laboratory, adhering to health and safety guidelines during practical lessons.

Requirements of the Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • A degree in Science or a relevant field.
  • Experience preferred with Secondary Schools.
  • Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • DBS on the Update Service required.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to make science fun and relatable through hands-on learning.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
