Job Title: ASD Support in School
Location: Bournemouth / Poole
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start date: Immediate start / January 2025 starts possible
Contract: Term-time only

About the role:
As an ASD Support, you will play an instrumental part in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them engage with the curriculum and thrive in an inclusive learning environment. Working alongside teachers and other support staff, you will provide tailored assistance, build positive relationships and implement strategies that facilitate students' academic and social development.
Essential Qualities in an ASD Support will include:
- Supporting students with ASD by providing assistance, promoting their engagement and participation in class activities.
- Developing and implementing individualised learning and behaviour plans, in coordination with the teaching team.
- Encouraging positive social interactions and helping students with ASD develop essential communication skills.
- Assisting with sensory and emotional regulation techniques to enable students to manage their environment effectively.
- Monitoring the documents and progress, providing insights and feedback to teaching staff and parents as needed.
- Collaborating with the wider school community to promote an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for all students.
Requirements of the ASD Support:
- Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs is crucial.
- A deep understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and a commitment to supporting students with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents.
- Patience, empathy and adaptability to work effectively in a school environment.
- A proactive approach and the willingness to continuously develop skills and knowledge related to ASD support.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
