Special Educational Needs TA (Teaching Assistant)

Salary Scale: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)
GSL Education Lincoln are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (TA) for a vibrant school in Grantham. You will be fostering an inclusive classroom environment that nurtures students with additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and achieve their educational targets. Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure tailored support for each student’s unique needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will assist students requiring additional learning support in both group and one-on-one settings. You will collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lesson plans and contribute to creating an inclusive, welcoming classroom culture.
Responsibilities of a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist in planning and delivering differentiated lesson plans.
- Promote positive social interactions and behavioural skills.
- Maintain and update student records and progress notes.
Required Qualifications for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Prior experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable).
- A caring and empathetic approach, with strong communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and respond effectively to the needs of students.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
