SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Grantham

Start Date: ASAP

Salary Scale: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Lincoln are currently recruiting a dedicated and passionate Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant client school in Grantham. This rewarding role as an SEN Teaching Assistant offers you an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with special educational needs. Your primary objective will be to foster a positive learning environment that encourages independence, confidence, and academic growth in students. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will provide tailored support to enhance the educational experience and help students overcome learning barriers.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will assist students requiring additional learning support in both group and one-on-one settings. You will collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lesson plans and contribute to creating an inclusive, welcoming classroom culture.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide personalised support to SEN students to meet their specific educational goals.
  • Assist in developing lesson plans tailored to students’ individual needs.
  • Support classroom management and reinforce positive behaviour practices.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students.
  • Understanding of various special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorder and learning disabilities.
  • Ability to adapt learning resources to cater for diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
