Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £75-£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long Term
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Ashington. We are looking for committed individuals who are passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to students facing social and emotional challenges, helping them engage positively with their education. You will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities for a SEMH Teaching Assistant Include:
- Supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs on a one-to-one or small group basis.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
- Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop personalised support plans.
- Encouraging student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
Requirements for a SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Patience and empathy in supporting students’ emotional and social development.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

- Have the right to work in the UK.

- Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
