SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Swanwick
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education Southampton branch are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Swanwick.
In this important role, you will provide vital support to students with SEND, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement needed to thrive. Your contributions as an SEN Teaching Assistant will play a crucial part in creating an inclusive atmosphere where every student can excel.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Adapt educational resources and classroom activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement tailored support strategies for students with SEN.
- Provide direct, one-on-one support during lessons, helping with various tasks and activities.
- Assist with the implementation of behaviour management techniques suited to individual students.
- Foster the development of students' social skills and confidence through targeted interventions.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage their engagement and motivation.
- Work with parents and external professionals to ensure a holistic support system is in place for each student.
SEN Teaching Assistant Qualifications:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is highly desirable.
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, especially providing one-on-one or small group support, is preferred.
- Understanding of various SEN conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting students' growth.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
