SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Locks Heath
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education Southampton branch are seeking a proactive and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Locks Heath.
In this role, you’ll provide essential assistance to students with SEN, helping them navigate their learning journeys. Your involvement will be key to fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere as a SEN Teaching Assistant where all students can thrive.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to design and implement tailored support plans for students with SEN.
- Adapt lesson materials and activities to cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one support during lessons, assisting with various tasks and classroom activities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies suited to the individual needs of students.
- Encourage the development of students' social and communication skills through focused interventions.
- Establish strong, trusting relationships with students to boost their confidence and motivation.
- Communicate effectively with parents and external professionals to ensure a well-rounded support network for each student.
Job requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is highly desirable.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with one-on-one or small group support, is preferred.
- Patience, dedication, and a genuine desire to help students overcome challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
