Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (MPS/UPS)

About the Role
As a SEMH Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create and implement individualised education plans tailored to each student’s needs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualised education plans for students with SEMH needs, assessing each student’s unique needs and abilities, and setting specific learning goals.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need to succeed.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being, sharing insights and strategies to support their development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported, encouraging positive interactions and a sense of community.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences, and making learning enjoyable and effective.
- Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to parents, support staff, and other relevant parties to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in teaching or supporting students with special educational needs is essential.
- Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community, creating a positive and collaborative environment.
- Show a deep commitment to helping students with SEMH needs, exhibiting patience and empathy in interactions.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH education (desirable but not essential).

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
