Location: Southampton
Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support for students on the autism spectrum. Your role as an Autism Teaching Assistant will involve delivering one-on-one or small group interventions, ensuring students feel engaged and supported in the classroom.
Responsibilities as an Autism Teaching Assistant:
- Tailor your approach to meet the individual needs of students with autism, ensuring students receive the specific support necessary for their unique learning styles and challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement well-structured lessons that capture students' interests and keep them engaged, ensuring that learning objectives are met effectively.
- Create an atmosphere where every student feels welcomed, valued, and included. Encourage respectful interactions among students to promote a sense of belonging and community.
- Monitor each student's academic and social development closely, offering constructive feedback that helps them understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
- Be actively involved in supervising and supporting students during break times and extracurricular activities, facilitating positive interactions and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Work to ensure that the classroom remains a safe, clean, and stimulating environment, filled with resources and materials that inspire learning and exploration.
Requirements for the Autism Teaching Assistant role:
- Previous experience as an Autism Teaching Assistant is desirable.
- Strong understanding of autism and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Show empathy, patience, and understanding when supporting students with autism.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
