SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Havant
Rate: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Havant. This is your opportunity to impact students' educational journeys positively and meaningfully.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing personalised support to students with special educational needs. Your role will involve working closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and ensuring that all students feel included and supported in the classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored assistance to students with SEN through focused one-on-one sessions and small group work, ensuring each student receives the guidance they need to progress academically.
- Actively assist teachers in creating and delivering lessons ensuring all students remain engaged and supported throughout the learning process.
- Help cultivate a welcoming classroom where all students, regardless of their abilities, feel supported, valued, and able to participate fully.
- Regularly monitor the academic development of students, providing helpful feedback to both students and teachers to foster continuous improvement.
- Assist students during break times, lunchtime, and extracurricular activities, ensuring they feel comfortable and included in all school environments.
- Help create and uphold a classroom environment that is both secure and motivating, ensuring students feel encouraged to learn and explore their potential.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Passion for working with children with special educational needs.
