SEN Support Worker
Location: Romsey
Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time or Part-time
Start Date: Immediate
GSL Education Bournemouth Branch are currently working with schools in Romsey, seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join their teams. This role offers the opportunity to provide vital support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers and succeed in their learning journey.
As an SEN Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create a supportive environment where students with SEN can thrive. You will provide both classroom assistance and targeted interventions, ensuring each student receives the personalised support they need to reach their potential.
Essential Qualities We Need from an SEN Support Worker:
- Provide personalised support to students with SEN, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in lesson planning and classroom activities, ensuring that students with SEN are fully engaged.
- Offer one-on-one and small group interventions tailored to each student’s needs.
- Help manage behaviours and create a calm, structured environment for all students.
- Monitor and document student progress, contributing to personalised support plans.
- Stay current with the latest SEN strategies and participate in professional development.
Requirements:
- Have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN); experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding when working with students with SEN.
- Be adaptable and able to work effectively in different classroom settings, providing flexible support based on individual student requirements.
- Possess a strong commitment to promoting the inclusion and independence of students with SEN.

To be a successful candidate working as a SEN Support Worker, you will need:
- The right to work in the UK.
- An updated CV with two relevant references from the last two years, covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
