Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract: Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education Bournemouth Branch are currently working with schools in Eastleigh, seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join their teams. This role provides the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), supporting their academic and emotional development in a nurturing environment.

As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that students with autism receive the tailored support they need. Your role will involve providing one-on-one and group assistance, helping students overcome challenges, and ensuring they thrive both in and outside the classroom.

Responsblities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Deliver one-on-one and small group interventions to meet the specific needs of students with ASD.
  • Assist in lesson planning and delivery, ensuring that students with autism are fully engaged in classroom activities.
  • Use effective strategies to manage behaviours and create a calm, structured learning space for all students.
  • Track and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to personalised support plans.
  • Stay up to date with the latest ASD practices and educational strategies, participating in professional development.

Requirements needed to be an Autism Support Worker:

  • Have experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder; experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Show empathy, patience, and understanding when supporting students with autism.

  • An updated CV with two relevant references from the last two years, covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
