1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants

Location: Bournemouth

Rate: £12.82 per hour

Contract type: Full-time or Part-time (based on candidate availability)

Start Date: November 2024 or January 2025

Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis?

GSL Education are looking for dedicated 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming team in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the educational journey of individual students who need additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised one-on-one support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist students with their learning, helping them overcome challenges and stay engaged in the classroom.
  • Implement tailored learning strategies in line with individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN coordinators to ensure the best learning outcomes.
  • Offer emotional and behavioral support as needed, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential).
  • Show a passion for supporting students’ learning and development.
  • Be patient, understanding, and able to build rapport with individual students.
  • Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
