Support Workers

Location: Bournemouth

Rate: £12.82 per hour

Contract type: Full-time or Part-time (based on candidate availability)

Start Date: November 2024 or January 2025

GSL Education are seeking Support Workers to join a caring and supportive team in Bournemouth. This role is ideal for those who want to help individuals overcome challenges and thrive in their personal and educational development.

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in assisting students or individuals with a variety of needs, helping them to navigate daily challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-on-one and group support to individuals with additional needs, adapting your methods to suit their unique requirements and learning preferences.
  • Assist individuals with their daily activities, promoting their independence and boosting their confidence as they tackle various challenges in and out of the classroom.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure that each individual receives optimal care and assistance, promoting a comprehensive approach to their development.
  • Carefully monitor individual progress and offer regular feedback to appropriate staff, ensuring that support strategies are effective and modifications are made as needed to enhance growth and assistance.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a support or care role (preferred but not essential).
  • Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about making a difference.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be aware of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
