Behavioural Support Teaching Assistants

Location: Bournemouth

Rate: £12.82 per hour

Contract type: Full-time or Part-time (based on candidate availability)

Start Date: November 2024 or January 2025

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated Behavioural Support Teaching Assistants )to join a fantastic school in Bournemouth. This role is perfect for individuals who are looking to work closely with students facing behavioural challenges and help them thrive in their educational journey.

In this position of a Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a key role in creating a positive and structured learning environment for students, helping them develop both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised one-on-one and small group behavioral support to students, ensuring they receive the attention and guidance needed to thrive in their learning environment.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behavior by implementing effective strategies aimed at improving student engagement and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Help students develop essential coping strategies and social skills to enhance their ability to interact with peers and navigate challenges in both academic and social settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to create a supportive network that addresses each student's unique needs, promoting their overall well-being and educational success.
  • Monitor student progress closely and provide regular feedback to teaching staff, ensuring that all interventions are effective and adjustments are made as necessary to support student growth.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a behavioural support role or similar (preferred but not essential).
  • Be patient, understanding, and committed to helping students succeed.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Be familiar with safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
