About the role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with diverse learning needs by planning and delivering small group interventions tailored to their requirements. The ideal candidate will be proactive and confident in managing behaviour, fostering student engagement, and promoting an inclusive environment where all pupils feel supported and cared for.

Responsibilities of the Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for pupils with SEN.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Being proactive and adaptable, considering the needs of the individual and tailoring support and strategies accordingly.

Requirements of the Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN.
  • Strong understanding of different SEN and effective strategies for supporting students, including behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
